The Troggs were originally called the Troglodytes and they were an English garage rock band formed in Andover, Hampshire in May 1964, but they were unlike any other group to come out of Britain in the mid-1960s. Someone who’s reclusive, reactionary, brutish, or out of date can be called a troglodyte, but this word may also be used to describe a person that is loving in a cave, which makes me think of Fred Flintstone. Taylor was inducted into the Songwriter Hall of Fame in 2016.
